Escaping the City in Chatfield State Park

chatfield-state-park_400Chatfield is a State Park set around the Chatfield Reservoir, on the Platte River just outside of Denver. Despite its proximity to the city, the area is a haven for native wildlife as well as a beautiful place in which to relax and enjoy the fresh air.

The Chatfield reservoir and park attracts many of the local Denver residents out of the city, as well as being an attraction for visitors from further away who want to experience the magnificent natural beauty of Colorado. The park is set in the foothills to the southwest of Denver, and includes a section of the Platte River valley and the entire Chatfield reservoir.

Denver's Berkeley Park and Neighborhood

Berkeley Park has seen some rapid development in recent years, with many new businesses opening up in the area and an influx of new residents drawn in by the beauty of the park and the charm of the neighborhood.

congress-park-denver_250Congress Park is one of the most attractive and popular areas in Denver. It is a varied, historic neighborhood set around the park of the same name.

The Congress Park neighborhood features a range of properties including many Denver Squares and Bungalows. Most properties in this neighborhood tend to be fairly old, unlike some of the more recently redeveloped areas of Denver, although there are some high rise buildings dating from the 1960s. Other notable buildings include some Art Deco apartment blocks and the many grand houses along 7th Avenue.

Denver's Jefferson Park Neighborhood

denver-jeffreson-park_293Jefferson Park and the surrounding neighborhood of the same name overlook downtown Denver from its situation in the area known as North Denver. Stationed on a bluff above the city, the park has excellent views over the city, particularly the Central Platte Valley.

Excellent transport links connect Jefferson Park to the downtown area and the rest of the city, and with downtown Denver and Highlands Square within easy reach, there are plenty of nearby opportunities for entertainment, dining and shopping. Denver's Park Hill Community

Park Hill is a neighborhood in the northeastern part of Denver. It is divided into three administrative sections, North Park Hill, Northeast Park Hill and South Park Hill.

All of these areas are administered by the same neighborhood organization, the Greater Park Hill Community or GPHC, which is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1961. The GPHC produces and distributes a free monthly paper for the residents of Park Hill and organizes a number of activities. These include the annual Home Tour and the Youth Jobs Program, which helps the local youths to find summer employment for the school vacation. Denver's Sloans Lake

Sloans Lake is a neighborhood on the western edge of Denver. It features a park and lake of the same name and offers some of the most stunning views of both downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains. Access from Sloans Lake to the downtown area is very easy and takes less than ten minutes. Residents of the area tend to head outside their own neighborhood if they are looking for a night out, either to the city center or to the neighboring Highlands Square. Sloans Lake is a family centered community. Although it does not have the same range of restaurants and boutiques as Highlands Square, the area has an excellent selection of basic stores where residents can pick up all of their basic necessities.

The neighborhood of Washington Park in South Central Denver is based on the large urban park of the same name. The area is also known as Wash Park, particularly by the locals. Its central position, excellent transport links to the rest of the city, and wealth of bars, restaurants and stores makes this one of the busiest neighborhoods in the city. Bonnie Brae Neighborhood and Park

Bonnie Brae is one of the most unique and attractive neighborhoods in Denver. It is predominantly a residential neighborhood with large family homes and peaceful, tree lined streets. There is a rich diversity of architectural styles. Many of the homes date from the 1930s and 1940s, but there are also some large new houses in the area. These new builds, which have replaced some of the ranch and Tudor style homes, are now considered characteristic of the neighborhood and are often highly sought after.

Belcaro is one of Denver's most beautiful and desirable neighborhoods. It is considered both wealthy and fashionable, and is filled with some of the city's most magnificent homes, including the spectacular Phipps Mansion.
